When I initially started incorporating prayers of surrender into my spiritual practice, it wasn’t easy. There was a part of me that wasn’t quite ready to give up the (false) sense of control I had over my life. I now find surrender to be the most profound part of my spiritual practice, because I can sink into the awareness that I am provided for, no matter what appearances surround me. A simple “Thy will be done” is the simplest form of surrender prayer, and one that I use often. And when I need to go a bit deeper, I use a prayer of surrender like this one to remind me of why it’s better to “let go and let God.” And if I find I’m resisting surrendering, it’s typically because there is a limiting belief that’s ready to be recognized and let go.
What are you ready to surrender in your own life?
NOTE: This surrender prayer is written and recorded in the first person so that you can make it your own as you read and listen to it.
How good it is to just breathe in that breath of life that is the very breath of God, to know that there is only one thing happening anytime, anywhere. That one thing is God, that one thing is Love, that one thing is Peace and abiding Harmony. That one thing is perfect, expansive Joy. That one thing is overflowing Good. That one thing is the Abundance that is in evidence throughout creation. That one thing is continually expanding into more and more of itself.
And I know that I am one with this Presence; that it is the Allness and Wholeness of my very being, for right where I am, God is. So right where I am, I know and I know that I know, that this perfect love abiding Joy, unyielding Harmony, expansive Good and so much more, is right where I am. I don’t need to go looking for It, for It already is the Allness and Wholeness of my very being. The entirety of my being is already one with this perfect essence. I just need to open my awareness to it. And I consciously open my awareness to it right here and right now.
The all-Activity of Spirit now operates uninhibited in the entirety of my experience, for I fully and completely surrender to God’s best and highest plan for my life, knowing that this plan is better than anything I could possibly imagine. There is no thing that can hinder, block, obstruct or delay this flow of Spirit, for It is the greatest Power in creation. I am now done with fear, doubt, worry and all thoughts of lack and limitation. I now surrender anything within me – every fear, every doubt, every worry, every thought of lack and limitation that would appear to hamper the perfect flow of Life through and as my every experience. I am immortal, eternal in Spirit, and all that Spirit has is now mine. I am now a perfect, clear channel for Spirit. My life is a continuously expanding progression of peace, joy and harmony. As I surrender my personal will and say “Thy will be done,” I create even more space for Spirit to work through and as my life, more space for God’s will to be done through me. Right here and right now, I claim the faith of God as my faith, remaining anchored in the deep and abiding love of Spirit. The peace of God infuses my soul, the entirety of my being with a gentle tranquility and perfect knowingness that all of my needs are now met, effortlessly and easily, under grace and in perfectly perfect ways. I now surrender every limited sense of Life in my consciousness and recognize my perfect at-one-ment with Spirit. I surrender my heart, my mind and my hands and abide in perfect faith and trust that I am channel for good. And as I am a channel for good, more and more channels for my own good open. I simply let God be God through and as me, and through and as every aspect of my life. I am now a perfect and clear channel for Spirit, for Infinite Intelligence to work through. My every action, every reaction, every interaction is God in action and expression. I am led, guided and inspired by Divine ideas, so I always know exactly what to do, when and how to do it as Infinite Intelligence within me leads the way. Knowing that God is saying yes to me in direct proportion to my saying yes to God, I now step forward into my greater surrender and my greater yes to the indwelling Presence of God, claiming and accepting every perfect blessing for this day that is mine by Divine Right. And all is well in my world.
And I abide in great gratitude for all of it. I am so grateful for this opportunity to pray. I am so grateful for my willingness to surrender and say yes to Spirit. I’m so grateful for the easeful and grace-filled unfoldment of God’s best and highest plan for my life. I’m so grateful for the continual stream of guidance that is being made available to me, and I’m so grateful for the wisdom to follow this guidance. I am grateful for every blessing that is now coming into my experience. I am grateful for all of this and for so much more. And I release this word to the perfect action and activity of Divine Law, knowing that it was done before it was spoken. I simply take my human hands off, I let go and let God. And so it is.
